James "Jay" Gioia

Jay grew up in Buffalo, New York and attended nearby Alfred University where he obtained a Bachelors in Criminal Justice in 2012. He ultimately attended Law School at Ohio Northern University in Ada, OH where he graduated cum laude in 2017.

During his time in Ada, Jay worked for the Allen County Prosecutor's Office where he obtained invaluable litigation experience. Jay has been representing the accused in criminal matters for several years across the State of Maine and has had success obtaining favorable verdicts in trial.

Prior to founding the Gioia Firm, Jay worked for the firm of Dickie, McCamey, & Chilcote, P.C. where he gained experience defending parties in a myriad of civil litigation matters.

Jay is a member of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
